In this collaboration, Atmel will support Intel® Enhanced Privacy ID (Intel® EPID) technology on all Atmel SmartConnect wireless solutions to improve secure cloud provisioning-the mutual authentication of the IoT node with the cloud-in the rapidly growing IoT market where more devices are becoming smartly connected. With tens of billions of devices anticipated by 2020, security is one of the critical components to enabling a seamless connection between the edge node to the cloud. Intel EPID can dynamically assign and revoke group memberships by individuals.
