At Infrarail 2012 in Birmingham, Moxa will be presenting their complete solutions for rolling stock and trackside applications with focus on IP-based video surveillance and data acquisition solutions for efficient remote maintenance of the railway infrastructure, and the remote collection of real-time information for early failure warning.

Monitoring railway assets is important to ensure operational reliability and sustainability. Moxa´s products for video surveillance and condition monitoring are a dependable solution for onboard and trackside applications, such as level crossing monitoring.

ioPAC 8500 Series
The ioPAC 8000 series are the first programmable rugged modular RTU controllers designed for front-end data acquisition and monitoring applications. They are equipped with a powerful processor and a variety of interfaces, such as high speed AI, WiFi, Ethernet, and cellular interfaces. Durable M12 Ethernet connectors and spring-type terminal blocks ensure reliable operation for train-related applications. The series tolerates temperature extremes from -40° to 75°C, is enclosed in a sealed metal casing, and is compliant with EN 50121-3-2, EN 50121-4 and essential sections of EN 50155. The products are built with dual power inputs, dual LANs, and external SD storage support and hot-swappable I/O modules to keep services up and running.

VPort 36 Series
The IP camera VPort 36 series are the world´s first surveillance cameras designed for extreme temperatures from -40 to 75°C without heater/cooling fan. They offer a 1/2.7" progressive scan CMOS camera with HD resolution (max. 1280 x 720) and DNR/BLC/WDR technologies for superb video/image quality. Their advanced IVA (Intelligent Video Analysis) technology, and de-mist technology enhance surveillance system efficiency. The cameras provide both H.264 and MJPEG video streams and can transmit up to 3 independent video streams with up to 30fps simultaneously. They are compatible with CS/C mount lenses with built-in ICR support, and of course they are EN 50121-4 and NEMA TS2 compliant. VPort 36 supports Moxa´s DynaStream™ function for optimized network efficiency and it is available with PoE or 12/24 VDC or 24 VAC power input, plus an optional IP66 housing.

V2406 Series
The V2406 series are ready-to-run embedded computers based on the Intel Atom N270 x86 processor, featuring 4 RS-232/422/485 serial ports, dual LAN ports, and 3 USB 2.0 hosts. They provide VGA and DVI-I outputs and they are EN 50155 certified, making them particularly well-suited for railway applications in operating temperatures from -40 to 70°C. The dual 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports with M12 connectors offer a reliable solution for network redundancy, 6 DIs and 2 DOs enable the connection of digital input/output devices, and CompactFlash provides the reliability needed for data buffering and storage expansion. Of course, the computers are EN 50155 and EN 50121-4 certified.

Along with advanced edge-to-core networking technology, such as redundant 20ms fast recovery Gigabit backbone rings, redundant relay house networking infrastructure and comprehensive train to ground wireless solutions for high-speed roaming, Moxa offers a total solution for EN 50121 and EN 50155 environments.
